Pastor Clara is currently on a three month sabbatical coupled with a mission trip and vacation time, which began May 3rd and will run until August 23rd.  During this time New Covenant will have coverage from various UCC pastors including Ann Graves, who served at New Covenant in the past.  Damon Anderson will be covering in July and August.  We encourage you to continue to visit us during this time and begin to get acquainted with us.

A Message from the Pastor:   

 At New Covenant United Church of Christ, we believe that "No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here"!  We often begin worship with those words so we take them seriously.  We warmly invite you to get to know us.  Please feel free to browse our website to learn more about us.   Even better, join us for worship on Sunday mornings.  Christian Education hour is from 9:30 to 10:30 and worship begins at 10:45.  I think you will not only feel welcome at New Covenant, but that you will find worship to be refreshing and uplifting.  Through music, prayer and times of reflection, worshippers have the opportunity to experience the presence of God.  We are called in to worship God, to learn more about God, but then we are sent out in service.  We at New Covenant make our mission of outreach and service a priority, an integral part of our faith journey.  Come and visit.  We've been waiting for you!

About Pastor Clara: 

 Rev. Clara Benson began her ministry at New Covenant United Church of Christ on April 4, 2005.  Prior to responding to the call to come to New Covenant UCC, she served Freidens United Church of Christ in Marissa, Illinois for over five years.  Pastor Clara was ordained June 27, 1999 by the Western Association of the Southern Conference of the United Church of Christ.  She received her Masters of Divinity in May, 1999 from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Charlotte, North Carolina.  Pastor Clara has a BA in Sociology and an MA in Counseling.  Prior to responding to her call to ministry, she worked as a mental health professional in Lexington, NC.  Pastor Clara is married to Jim who is retired from the United States Air Force.  They have two adult children, Julie and Brian, a cat, DJ and a "grandcat".
