Worship & Education

Worship Hours (9:30am Adult and Special Needs Sunday School and 10:45am worship) 

Worship – Sunday mornings at 10:45 a.m. (10 am Memorial Day wknd. – Labor Day wknd.)  The Sacrament of Communion is celebrated the 1st Sunday of each month.  Typical worship services contain a blend of traditional and some contemporary elements.  Music is a prominent part of the service as a song of preparation and 3 hymns are usually sung.  The gift of music is shared weekly by the adult choir, the youth choir, bell choir, a member of the congregation or a special guest.  A message for all ages is included every Sunday, a worship coloring table, children’s bulletin pages and a nursery are available each week.

Education: 

Children/Youth Sunday School class – Is currently on hiatus. The program is being revamped and will be relaunched on Wednesday nights beginning in January…Stay tuned for the roll-out of our new and exciting program.

Adult Special Needs Sunday School class – New Covenant will be bringing back it’s adult special needs Sunday School class on a trial basis beginning Sunday, October 14th at 9:30 a.m.

Young Adult/Adult Sunday School class – Is finishing-up the intergenerational DVD study, “Renegade Gospel: The Rebel Jesus” by Mike Slaughter. On Oct. 28th we’ll begin an intergenerational study on the “Parables of Jesus.” The next DVD study will begin Dec. 2nd, it’s by Rev. Adam Hamilton and titled, “Faithful; Christmas Through the Eyes of Joseph.”

Seeds of Change – This adult class just concluded reading and discussing the book “They Will Inherit the Earth” by John Dear. The class will take the month of November off and begin reading and discussing the book “The Next Person You Meet In Heaven” by Mitch Albom in December.

Youth Group – Meets weekly (Sept. – May), Sunday evenings 6-8 p.m. Jr. and Sr. high youth gather each week for a variety of social, spiritual and service activities

Wednesday’s at New Covenant – Returns Wednesday, Sept. 5th. The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a fellowship meal. At 6:00 p.m. the group disperses for Bible Study and Adult Choir practice.  The Youth and Bell Choir practices begin at 7:00 p.m. It is not necessary for you to attend the meal in order to participate in Bible study or choir. Beginning Oct. 24th, the Bible study curriculum will be, “The Parables of Jesus.”   

Food for Thought – 1st Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. during the summer months (June, July and August), following a time of fellowship and sharing of snacks a time for study and the sharing of thoughts begins at approx. 6:15 p.m.  Each month a new word or phrase is selected for discussion and study.

Vacation Bible School – (summer) included each year is a special needs Vacation Bible School class. This year’s VBS theme was “Shipwrecked”. There were classes for ages 3-12, as well as an adult special needs class. VBS will ran from 6pm – 8:30pm each evening. Please continue to check back for information on VBS for the summer of 2019!
